Adding Value to Future

What’s your future? How do you add value to it? Is your future all about achieving your aims? Reaching the top of your corporate ladder? Will you be happy when you reach its epitome?

And you come home, and your child says, you were so selfish! You never spent time with me, on me! You were supposed to take care of me but you were flying high in your career, your aspirations. Ok, you can imagine this being told to a woman right? Men are saved!!! They are not expected to manage the family, especially take care of the kids. They are not expected to be there when the kid needs him! But the mom won’t be spared, no matter how successful she is and how much ever wanted she is in the organisation!

Typical Indian scenario? Do you suffer because of this? Do you find guilty of yourself for having to leave your child at home or a daycare to get back to work? Please Don’t!!! The kid will be happy to take a break from an unhappy you, and get back to a happier you at the end of the day.

If your kid is talking to you like that, please sit him/her down to tell them that it is equally important for you to feel important and empowered. That’s probably where you will be adding value to your future!

Like Vaishali Kasture, the MD and Country Head of Experian said, don’t own it all! Get a support system around you, including your spouse, family, neighborhood, Friends and even your dog!!! Yes, let them know that they also have to play their part in parenting and taking care of the family and relationships so that you can take care of your career too.

Feeling empowered? Well, the amazing mentors at the Restarters event conducted by had even more amazing tips to share to the 300+ women restarters who had gathered today at the MLR convention center at Whitefield, Bangalore.

Like Paulo Coelho said, if you are determined to do something, the entire world around you will conspire to make it happen. That’s exactly what was happening. With so many women and some men too sharing how they can add value to your career and how much they look forward to hiring these super talented women restarters, the entire day was prepping the women to get inspired and stay motivated. What for? Of course, to get back to work, be back at work!

For one thing, you can help yourself with the self-confidence, financial independence and emotional support by restarting your career. And where else, but at would you find so many energetic women, who have all gathered to gear up their restart journey?

If you are wondering why you should get back to a career, because your husband is earning well and you are well-off, let me point out another perspective to it. There’s something called confidence which tends to break down gradually and vent stoops down to negative, when you step down from your career ladder. Moreover, if men are allowed to be career-oriented, is there any reason woman should not be one too? In face, when the woman in the house steps out to build her a career, she not only brings in a new confidence within the family, they even make the children feel proud of the fact that their mom is quite independent and intellectual. This in turn makes them more confident and independent. You must do it for a mentally healthy next generation who don’t have gender bias. A generation that would not have to think twice about a career break or restart!

You can take that decision and take some effort to achieve it for a better tomorrow that never questions the need for a career restart and instead would respect and respond positively to it. Let us get empowered today to add value to our tomorrow along with the next generation’s. Follow your passion, for you have done a job before. The decision is totally YOURs. JobsForHer is there to help you out today. To do it and be there. You just need to go grab the opportunity.
