Back to School Days!

When we were young, for most of us, the main aim was to somehow finish off the school days and start off a college life! It was so luring – no uniform (yes we never had them in college), lots of freedom, and our choice of subjects made the college more desirable! Once in college, we just wanted to finish off with studies and get into a good job. Then no more projects, assignments and studies! At least, at every stage, we thought the next one was easier! Finally, by the time you reach your 30s you realise that the best times were indeed the school days! I guess every grown up wants to go back to school!

We just did that! Went back to our school days on August 6th with around 25 of us friends meeting up after a long time.

This was a gathering of school friends, 25 of us who completed our 10th on the same year from the same school but from different divisions. Our batch had around 7 divisions back then!

Thanks to the social media networks, I had started trying to connect with my long lost school friends since the Orkut days! Got a few there, carried over to Facebook and when WhatsApp came, we already had a group of 40+ people contacting each other from 3 divisions. Around 5 years back, we tried to conduct a reunion on the 20th year of our passing out of school which somehow didn’t work out. But our class had this group very live with 20+ friends constantly in touch with each other. We started meeting up often whenever it was possible. Even with a few NRIs and NRKs we still manage to meet up quite often.

This meeting was special because we were meeting some of them for the first time officially! With so many divisions, we hardly knew everyone in the same batch!but that never stopped us from forming the group and taking it forward to make this meet happening! It was an amazing reunion with 25+ school friends, behaving just like those school days, teasing and chatting with each other.

There’s no one to discipline, there’s no one telling us to study. We all do have families and responsibilities now. But we managed to keep everything away for a while just to be back with our school friends. And this was an amazing time we all had!

It just felt like a large class by the backwaters! Cosily located between the sea and backwaters. No egos, no fights, it was pure bliss. It felt wonderful to be back again with people who have been in the same class/school for 6+ years!
